What does United Water do?
United Water is the largest private Water Company operating in Australia and New Zealand, providing comprehensive water and wastewater services to almost 1.5 million people. In Adelaide alone our responsibilities include six water treatment plants, five wastewater treatment plants, over 450,000 service connections, almost 10,000km of water mains and 7,000km of wastewater mains, while maintaining our environmental end economic commitments. We also have operations in Ballarat and New Zealand.
How do I apply for a job with United Water?
The best way is to submit your resume through our online careers service. When you have completed the online application process, your resume is stored in our resume database, which is referred to by the Recruitment consultant at United Water when a position becomes available.

As we are a large, multinational organisation, there are many opportunities for you to find new professional challenges through varying job roles, working in different businesses, functions and locations. What happens to my application once I have applied?
Once your application is fully completed, you will receive a confirmation message sent to your e-mail address within one day.
If you have applied for a specific job, your application will be reviewed by the recruiter who, then, may contact you. If you have submitted an expression of interest, you may be contacted if a position matching your profile is available.
What can I do if I am not interested in a specific job but I would still like to submit my resume?
You can submit an expression of interest or you can submit your resume/CV online and your details will be kept on record and reviewed for any available jobs in the future.
What if I haven't heard anything after applying for a position?
Before contacting us, please check that the e-mail address that you have used to apply to United Water is accurate. If you have not entered a valid e-mail address we will not have been able to contact you.
What hours will I work? Is there any guarantee of hours?
The number of hours that an employee works will vary depending on the role. A full-time employee will work a minimum of 38 hours, whereas a part-time employee will work the hours they are contracted to work. For casual employees the hours can vary anywhere from 15-38 hours per week in Australia and up to 40 hours per week in New Zealand. There is no guarantee of hours, these will vary depending on business demand.

What does United Water look for in an applicant?
Firstly, we look for candidates who have skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the role that is vacant. Secondly, we look for candidates who are a good cultural fit to the team, and to United Water. Finally, we look for someone who demonstrates real potential. Depending on the role, we may look specifically for candidates with relevant water industry experience, but this is not always the case.
